We're still figuring out most of the details for our wedding weekend, but you can find some information below. Check back after formal invitations have arrived for the full Q&A!
Save the Date Questions
Will there be events before/after the wedding? What days should I plan to be in Annapolis?
We’ll have a Welcome BBQ on the evening of Friday, June 26, the wedding will be late afternoon into the night on Saturday, June 27, and a Farewell Brunch on the morning of Sunday, June 28.
We would love to see you all weekend, but understand if you can't make every event!
Will kids be invited?
Kids are welcome at all events during the wedding weekend, but only if they promise not to be too well-behaved.
We’re coming from out of town. Where should we fly into? Where should we stay?
We love our home in historic Downtown Annapolis, and we hope you’ll stay the weekend and enjoy it with us! In between wedding events, it’s a perfect place to shop, eat, and soak up some history, and we’ll share a guide to some of our favorite sights and spots with you as the wedding gets closer.
Our hotel blocks are ready to reserve now!
BWI is the closest airport to Annapolis, but DCA isn’t much further. (If you refer to DCA as “Reagan,” you will be banned. We don’t use that kind of language in this house.)
If you are thinking of coming by train, the New Carrollton Amtrak station (NCR) is much closer to Annapolis than Union Station in DC or Baltimore.
Public transit in Annapolis isn’t the best, but there are plenty of Ubers and Lyfts available if you’d prefer not to rent a car. We will offer transportation from downtown Annapolis to the Friday night BBQ and the wedding on Saturday.
What will there be to eat and drink?
If you’ve been out to eat with us, you know we try as many things on the menu as we can.
The welcome BBQ, wedding, and farewell brunch will all be buffet-style.
We’ll have an open bar at the wedding; beer, wine, and seltzers at the Welcome BBQ; land a cash bar at the farewell brunch.
If you have dietary preferences or restrictions, we'll have a section to add that note on our RSVP form.
What do you call it when a Unitarian humanist marries a secular Jew?
An interfaithless marriage. Get it? 😉
We are excited to have Humanistic Rabbi Greg Epstein, the Humanist Chaplain at Harvard and MIT, and former spiritual advisor on TV’s Married at First Sight, as our wedding officiant. Our ceremony - like our family - will weave together Jewish tradition and humanist beliefs.
If I know I absolutely will/can’t make it, should I let you know now?
Yes please! But we will still ask you to fill out the formal RSVP form when we share it.
We are limited in the amount of people we can accommodate, and we hope every one of you are able to make it, but knowing well in advance if you can’t come allows us to include someone else we love.
What colors are the bridal party and groomsmen wearing?
The bridal party will be wearing a mix of colors from our palette.
Groomsmen will be wearing blue suits.
But please feel free to use colors from our palette, too!
Where are you registered?
We’ll share our registry around the time we send formal invitations in early 2026.
I have a different question. How should I contact you?
Send questions to fishandmadistark@gmail.com or text 954-547-5167, and a representative (Madi) will be with you shortly.
